OBI Medical specializes in the development and commercialization of innovative digital health and decision support solutions.
Our aim is to help improve patient care, clinical workflow, cost-effectiveness and outcomes by developing new cutting-edge solutions on a global scale.
We work in close collaboration with scientific and clinical partners to incubate promising technologies and solutions.
In addition, we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Roche Diagnostics International AG.
v-TAC Technology
OBI Medical was originally founded by a group of leading scientists, researchers and clinicians from Aalborg University Hospital and from the Centre for Model-based Medical Decision Support at Aalborg University, with the purpose of developing and commercializing the ground-breaking v-TAC technology to mathematically convert venous blood gas values to arterial values. During the course of this work, new inventions were identified.
In 2020, OBI Medical were acquired by Roche and the v-TAC software was branded as Roche v-TAC and made immediately available as a Roche product.
